May I introduce myself. My name is Sheila Lloyd-Graham, and I am originally from Cirencester. I have had three Sporting Careers as a WRAC PTI, teaching in Scotland, London, Hampshire & Berlin. While working with the Americans in West Berlin, Germany, in the seventies and eighties, I used to travel into the British Sector to provide exercises over the Airwaves on British Forces Broadcasting Services, along with Baz Riley. On returning to the UK, I didn’t hesitate when asked to be interviewed on Corinium Radio – now Cirencester Radio.
This subsequently led to my show “Lady She & Friends” – a title given to me while re-enacting in the 40s … my hour-long show goes live every Wednesday at 7 pm and is also on Listen Again at any time, along with my fellow presenters. I am also delighted that my shows will be broadcast on Cirencester Hospital Radio.
My wonderful Guests consist of Singers, Novelists, and Clothes Designers, to name a few, from my love of Living History and interest in learning about interesting people with a story to tell. Along with popular music through the ages.
In the photos, I am recording in front of the Queen’s Helicopter & Mary, an ATS Re-enactor along with her motorbikes & Original Ambulance, at The Helicopter Museum at Weston Super Mare at their 1940s Weekend to commemorate the 80th Year of VE Day. I enjoyed speaking to the interesting characters along with their displays & stories.
We are always looking for volunteers and sponsors to work in all aspects of the radio. If you are interested, please contact us at cirencesterradio.co.uk.
We would love to hear from you.
