Penny Carpenter

Hello, I am Penny Carpenter, and I am the presenter of What's On: Penny's Picks on Cirencester Radio. Presenting this show is honestly pure joy. Each month, I get to tell listeners all about the events coming up in Cirencester and the surrounding villages. I speak to charities, fundraisers, prize winners, local businesses and community groups.

This year alone I have had over 10 guests on the show, including Caroline Bradley, author of 'Making Tracks'; Charlotte Lane from Gloucestershire Young Carers, Meg Blumson from the Phoenix Gardeners and Andrea Bankes from Charlie's Community Support. 

Much of my time is spent researching events, inviting people to record an interview with me and selecting the music for my show. I try to include at least two interviews each month and around eight music tracks; the remaining time is me chatting away, letting listeners know what's happening and where. The music choices usually include something very current, picks made by my guests, something suitable for the season and of course some personal favourites. I am also very fortunate to have Crumps Barn Studios sponsor my show.
