Hi, I’m Pete Wild, and I’ve been volunteering with Cirencester Radio since 2022. I grew up with a love of music from the era, from the acoustic music of Nick Drake, Roy Harper, Ralph McTell and Al Stewart, to the rock music of Led Zeppelin, Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Deep Purple.
Nowadays, on my shows, I play rock music from the late sixties right through to the present day. The Rock Spot is on a Friday, so give it a listen. Come on in — the music is cool!
During my time with Cirencester Radio, I have worked in three different radio studios, recorded more than 163 hours of radio shows, and had the opportunity to meet and work with a wide variety of interesting people. This has included members of the nobility, local dignitaries and local musicians.
About a year and a half ago, I suffered an eye stroke and became partially sighted. To help me continue broadcasting, Cirencester Radio adapted the equipment so that I could still produce my shows. They were also happy for me to work with RNIB Connect Radio, where all the presenters are blind or partially sighted.
If you’d like to be a part of your local community radio station, we always love hearing from you. Contact details can be found via our website at CirencesterRadio.co.uk.
